I've been on this forum for quite a while- but never scrolled down to see these groups, what a dumb@ss! Really interested in doing some rideouts- in pretty much any weather. I tend to head from manchester up to congleton/leek/buxton way, but am keen to find some more twisties Just fitted a daft can today, does anyone know what the manchester police policy is? (as it seems to vary so much by county)
take it easy out there tonight! everyones watching the fireworks as they drive.

How do Robin. Welcome along. I wouldnt worry too much about your can. Mine has been terrorising the North West for ages now with its ridiculously loud note and Ive not been pulled over once.

I had incredibly loud cans on something and stopped next to a police rangey in mancsville and all they did was wind their window up to drown the noise out

Listen to blue Pete regarding manc coppers as he is one.

Never had a problem with my after market audible proximity warning device.

TBH you must have really annoyed someone for them to take exception to your can so relax and worry about it if you get a rectification notice. Most beat bobbies wouldn't even know the law regarding cans and anyway so long as it complies with the VOSA MOT regs you don't even need to change it to get your rectification notice stamped. IE no not for road use stampings.
