Default Hypothetically speaking

If someone were to get a ridiculous parking ticket when they parked somewhere entirely sensible for a bike to park, but which wasn't strictly speaking "legal", even if they were only gone for 15mins, and they got a Penalty Charge Notice but.......................

The ticket said green, and the bike is blue-do you think they'd have any grounds to appeal??

Andy

(PS: Amazing what a quick blat can do to make you forget this sort of thing...I, uh, would imagine )

Don't pay it.
Wait for them to post something to you saying that you have an unpaid ticket, for a green bike.
Send them a nice letter stating that you do not own a green bike and it may have been another bike with false plates. You could also include a copy of your V5 showing reg and colour.
See what happens................

Be careful though. They tend to take pics these days,so might produce a nice image of your bike to nail you with.Could play dumb---Don't remember being there and ask for their proof before denying it.

Very true. Spotted a parking warden in Aberdeen city centre several months ago with a digital camera out while writing a ticket.

I thought that digital photos were not legally allowed as evidence unless the camera was 'certified'? This was due to the ability to alter the photos digitally? I was always recommended to keep a film camera in the glove box in case of accidents.
