Default What's a 'streetfighter?

Will I regret asking this and showing my ignorance? What differences to the normal sv turn it into a streetfighter?

John.

Usually twin headlights or bikini fairing, loud can, performance mods. Often lowering the forks in the yokes to make it look more squat, renthal bars, solo seat cowl or cut down sub frame. Anything to make it look meaner and more stunty!

Look here for some examples of other fightered bikes: http://www.whaccessories.com/Streetfighters.htm

It started in the late eighties when people would bin their GSXR's and such, not having comp insurance they chucked the shagged fairings and put a conventional headlight and some drag bars on. These beasts could prowl the city ****ing on everything else.

rip the fairing off your bike - crashing works well for this - then magnetize the bike & ride through halfords. be sure to use the special magnetization that attracts anodized aluminum tat

i rezent that! lol

buy a streetfighters mag! theres much more to it than that....anodised bits are for the guys that keep the fairing and want to pimp it up still...so engine bolt kits are all they do! yik!

It takes more than a set of renthals and some anodised bits to make a streetfighter.
Think one off custom made stuff and maybe you're close.
Think Spondon, Harris, Polygon and Steelheart for a frame with top spec wheels, brakes and suspension. Think superbike power for an engine, think nitrous, turbo or supercharger.

Anything else is just a flat barred rat bike
