Default k2 naked(7500 miles) - Choke lever travel?

Hi, How far should the choke lever travel for full choke? Mine seems to stop after a short distance - probably about 15 degrees of arc. Think the cable needs lubing?

Damn! just started to rain again.

John

Way more than that I reckon, mine does about 1/6 turn (a guess, but it's a fair bit). Then, the last half of the travel doesn't seem to do anything. Sounds like your cable's likely knackered, more than needing lubed...

You better pray the plunger is not stuck . If it is it can be a bit of a b*tch to free and if you are very very unlucky it'll be virtually impossible.

Saying that I only know of one person(me ) whose plunger was impossible to free no matter what was tried.

It also might be either the front or rear cable at the junction box has popped out ie a piece of the plastic housing box is broken making it easy/possible for that to happen. That being the case cable may be caught on the edge of the hole it's supposed to go into.

You can see if the box is broken looking from the left. To check for the stuck plunger(most probably the rear one), I'll lift the tank and trying pull very gently on the curved metal part of the rear cable. You you be able to pull it out and feel a springing action. Should also return/ spring back quite freely.

If it doesn't you should still be able to pull and push it in and probably means be the return spring at the plunger end is broken.

My money is on a stuck plunger unfortunately

Cheers
Ben

ps John you have a PM
