Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).![]() |

The Mrs always stresses out about me on the bike, so whenever I'm late (because I've stopped for a hot drink etc) I call home to let her know not to panic.
Just had a call from her now, in a stinking mood, apparently it's all my fault that she was late today on the umpteen things she had to do, because I didn't wake her as I left the house. On a normal day, My alarm goes off, gets kicked, goes off, gets kicked, goes off, I get out of bed, get ready and she's up out of bed & I wave bye to her & the kids as I go. After a ride home last night in freezing fog, I told her that I was going to set off early this morning, to be on the safe side, and take things easy. We had a whole conversation about her thinking it might not be the best idea to go to work on the bike, but she needed the car, and we both agreed that (as always) if I feel the weather/roads are too dangerous, I work from home. Also the fact that I've been late the last few days, so to get the work done, and restore some of that employee karma, arriving early for a change would be a good idea, we both agreed, last night. So this morning, the alarm went off, earlier than usual, got kicked, went off again, got kicked and as I lay there slowly waking up, the Mrs asked me what time it was. 6:50am. So she was in a stinking mood then, for waking her up early. Wait? What? Hang on a minute... So I got out of bed, got my gear on, wiped the ice from the bike, did the usual pre-flight inspection, then set off for work. No-one was up, so I didn't wave goodbye to anyone. No big deal, as they're usually crawling out of bed when I set off, and I'm early. Let them sleep, she's in a mood because my alarm woke her up anyway. So after this phone call I got recently, apparently it's my fault for not waking her up before I left. Yet she was awake enough to be in a stonker for me waking her up "too early." She is also under the impression that it was 6:15 when my second alarm went off for some strange reason. So she's obviously gone back to sleep after being woken by my alarm, then woke up too late because I wasn't leaving at the usual time, then been delayed more when she had to scrape ice from the car before she moved it. Sorry, but what the fe*k? All this is my fault how? We have two alarm clocks in the bedroom for a reason! Did she bother to set the other alarm clock (after our talk about how bad the cold would be over the night)? Erm, nope. Apologies, just one of those things where you need a good rant! I'm in no way saying all women are like this, but it's crud like this that really winds me up sometimes. |

Kill her. It's the only sensible option.

her to go on a late night Christmas shopping trip to Ipswich. Only joking mate.............although i'm bound to get slapped wrists! ![]() |

Set you alarm early for tommorow, then nick the duvet when you get up & remind her you're only doing it to help her get up!!!!

Steve, no, you make a good point.
I wonder how much it'd cost me to get her to stay there on a permanent basis? Since the killing isn't really an option (cheers for the thought though Scoobs!), possibly a part-ex with Jestler.... |
