Do you have the manual? I think it's about every 3'000-4'000 miles. You should also change the oil/filter at the same time. It's pretty simple really, there is a large drain plug underneath the bike (sump plug?) just unscrew that and out comes the oil. A Haynes manual is a good investment (well some would say it's not but it give you the general info that you need).
Hope I helped. Dan |

A couple of points.Be careful not to over tighten the sump plug when you put it back in.It screws straight into the engine case and you don't want to strip that thread.
You may find the filter a bit tight, and if you don't have a strap wrench you can hammer a screwdriver through it to undo it.Can be messy so have something under the filter to catch the oil.

It should tell you in the owners handbook.
Oil is every 3500 miles, I think the reccomended interval for the filter is longer but given the ease/cost of replacing it you may as well do it every oil change. Thanks for the reminder BTW mine is about 1500 miles overdue ![]() |

Mines 1400 miles overdue. Gonna service the bike this winter. NEw oil and filter, new air filter and new spark plugs. Along with properly fixing the wee bit of crash damage

Go by the manual, IIRC its every 3.5k miles. Worth getting hold of a torque wrench so you dont under/over tighten the drain plug.
If you don't have the user manual, pick up a copy of the Haynes one. Has all the lubricants maintenance schedules torque setting etc. Plus some good advice. |

Can't remember what the torque setting is for the drain plug, but I'm sure I never do mine up as tight as Suzuki say.I just nip it up with the ratchet and socket until it feels right. It's never fallen out so far.

yeah I thought it was higher too, but then I over tightened mines the last time, as anything over that, you can feel it eating the thread and going squint, oopsee
