Im in the process of fitting some streetfighter bars, I cant get the clutch cable to reach with sufficient slack for full lock without the cable being pulled taught. The cable gets stretched every time I turn to the right lock, it also slips the clutch, so obviously cant be right. Does anyone have any ideas why im having this problem? The bars came from a naked sv with holes pre drilled etc. I will get a pic later and post it up.
Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Ben |

the bars i had were just normal renthals to me! had a brace bar along the top.
as far as i can remember i had no problems. if you are, try rerouting the cable to loosen it off a little. just make sure it doesnt get jammed in any moving parts. im having a similar problem with my tl and its abm bars....i got the cluch cable off a dl650 to sort it out...bout 10mm of outer cable need removing..then it will be sorted. maybe this could sort you out. just get a clutch cable from a dl650...£19 from a suzuki dealer. |

All Renthal bars are normal.
What numbers have you got stamped/etched on the bars. You should have the number stamped on the left where the grip goes and aslo etched in the middle. Get those, go to Renthal site and check what bars you have. I've used both the lows and Ultra-lows. Some chopping of the bars may be required but you don't need a new cable. I find the standard width of even the Renthal Road bars to much anyways. FWIW the Renthal Ultra-lows work with the 'S' throttle cables whilst still being routed as normal. Ben |

http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...368&highlight= its driving me nuts, ive tried re routing the cable, getting it as long as possible, turning right is a whole new adventure, revs jump, and then drop when straghtening the bars, and the back wheel spins violently! ![]() |

Works fine for me, but... you need to cut a good inch or so off the ends. You can't get it to work with standard (naked) cables using the full width of the bars. Get your hacksaw out and that'll solve your problem

Renthal ultralows are 72.5cm wide. I shortened mine by about 2cm off each end.If yours are much wider than this it could be the problem. Hope this helps.
