Default Sporty car with low insurance group?

Hiya,

Not had my car licence long so insurance is expensive for me, but I would really like to get something better than what I have now (a 16 year old astra). Can anyone recommend me a nice smallish sporty car, perhaps a convertible, with a low insurance group?

Cheers!

Something you can take the top down on, like an MX5 say.

one of my friends has a Ford Street Ka. That might be worth looking at. I dont know about the MX5 might be pricey insurance wise. Good cars though IMHO.

Erm, an MX5 then? I've had one for 4 1/2 years & love it. Have a look on http://www.mx5ocforum.co.uk/ for loads of info - it's nearly as useful as this site is.

its not terribly sporty looking but its very nippy - Toyota Aygo. Have you watched Top Gear? these are the nippy little buggers they played football with. I really fancy a go in one and if you buy brand new then you get free insurance for a year.

Soooo many options but depends what you class as high insurance really and your budget..

MX5 is a great little car, but a bit "girly".
