Is it actually worth posting in Stuff Wanted for Rear Brake and Gear levers?
I cant really think of any reason for giving away/selling cheap either of these things. There are no pattern parts for these, so replacing them IS expensive, so I would keep any spares I had - only situation I can see is if someone fitted rearsets which didn't take the standard levers and so they were no use at all. Just my thoughts as I look forwards to paying dealer price for my Gear Lever ![]() David |

Ebay is the best bet for these bits, Even then most of the brake levers I've bought have been chipped, scraped bits of rubbish.

the old "bolt for a toepeg" trick is a common one even if only to use until you get another, or keep as a share, having done a fair few now (40 or so) I've refined it to a length of 10mm studding in a rubber sleeve, much stronger than original, seems to work well and costs pennies.

Wasn't aimed at anyone in particular - just seemed that being in that position and seeing the number of requests I was kind of hinting that its unlikely that these parts will turn up.
Planning on bolt-fixing my gear lever once its off, but going down the dealer route initially David |

You might have someone who's fitted rearsets, or is breaking the bike... Or like me, I accidentally ended up with 4 spare gear levers at one point
![]() The bolt-and-lever trick's a good'un, I've been running around for about 15000 miles on my current one, but nobody'd notice unless I pointed it out. (M8 bolt, with the original rubber around it, looks like new- it's been broken twice so it's a bit short though ![]()
