Stuart, if haven't booked a ferry place, then you've no chance of getting a ticket. Start swimming and sleep on the beach!! I booked my ticket last June and even then I couldn't get my prefered ferry dates!
You could get a plane over to the Isle of Man, but once you're over you'll be stuffed as there's no hotels, b&b's or even a farmer's shed left. I know some boys who already have taken their bikes over there, and are in storage for TT week!!!! They're flying out, collecting their bikes, and coming back via the ferry. You could hire a car for the week, but being the IOM expect to pay a fortune, and the traffic congestion will be chaos with this year being the TT's 100year centenary. If you don't have two wheels to get around to avoid massive queues then you'll be stuffed big time. I'm staying in a church hall for the week, but it's cheap and got all mod cons apart from a shower. We use the football club round the corner at St. Johns for breakfast and a shower. Peel is only down the road and provides good food. Keep trying ebay or make regular phone calls to the Steam Packet Co. to see if there's tickets as no doubt people will be cancelling prior to the event. I'm going out via Heysham on Saturday night coming back the following Friday. The dates you want are Heysham 2nd June coming back 8th or 9th June. |
