Anyone able explain exactly what this phrase means/origins. Apparently it's a Scottish phrase. Someone wants to know.

Doos are doves, or pigeons, it's more or less interchangable... Flee would be fly. But with that said, I still don't know what it means "The doves fly from the dovecots."

YEP ,,'FLEE THE DOOS' someone who flees the doos is someone who flys homing pigeons ,and a 'dookit/any other spelling(generally a run down /cheaply built shed /hut /wooden monstrosity in a run down housing scheme) is where they (the pigeons) are kept.i think its a glasgow saying

i think you may have misheard the phrase - in aberdeen a common greeting is 'foo's yer doos' - 'how are your pigeons' in the queen's ingerlish.

Ah, good one, makes more sense when you give it some context.
