I'm not surprised....the governing body pulling strings to ensure there is some kind of British interest by getting him a ride on a duff bike. Not that it makes me want to watch it anymore than I otherwise would.

Knowing Jezza personally he was chosen as he has exceptional skills for bringing on and developing new bikes. He was involved in a huge project last season for a cant be disclosed bike manufacturer. Luckily they let him relinquish his contract with them to ride the Ilmor.

Tough as old boots Jezza and still bloody good at drinking till the early hours and then being able to out ride us all the next day!

Plus, the Ilmor team will probably benefit hugely from having a highly experienced rider onboard... They could have got some up-and-coming 12 year old genius, but they're running a completely new bike here, so this could work out better.
