Default engine h-h-hes-itation

hey I need some help with my Sv650S k6, 2700miles, 6 months old

Every time I accelerate hard, or try and wheelie (using clutch and acceleration), my bike refuses, and gives a couple of coughs before continuing, this was quite scary when my engine cut at 60mph after being unable to recover from a hesitation, grabbing the clutch as the back wheel locked, only 1200 miles from new. I thought it would clear itself, and it has never cut since. but still hesitates whenever using hard acceleration, is this normal?

Certainly would not be normal with my K5, never any hesitation. I think something's amiss. I would take back to the dealer while still under warranty, and don't accept until repaired. The SV is the least tempermental bike I've owned since my 72 OSSA two stroke, you should be able to expect instant, not exactly overwelming but very good, response anytime you ask for it. That said, read previous posts about extended wheelies and oiling, does not seem to be a good idea.
I live at relatively high elevation, over 5200 feet, and shifting first to second at 8500 to 9000 rpm brings the front wheel up on its own, even with my old fat butt on the seat. Never had a stumble at all with the fuel injection, always smooth, Wyoming mountains to the West Coast at near sea level.

Your throttle problem is probably the cause. Depends of course on exactly what it is that worked loose. Let us know once you've spoken to Saltire.

I bought my K6 around the same time as you, but I'm on the road semi-permanently (14k miles ).

Mine never misses a beat, never. The only time my rear wheel locks up is when I cause it. If she'd cut out on me at 60mph I'd of been sat in the dealership camped out until it was sorted.

I've had a rear wheel lockup when an engine has blown (not on the SV), and it aint pretty. Get it checked before it happens again, and don't accept "we can't find anything wrong with it." Get them to take it for a test ride, if it's as bad as you say & they can't see it when they ride it, slap them! (Well, no, violence won't solve the issue, but you get the point )

the only time mine sttuters is when im in a too higher gear or i dont give enough revs whe pulling off, did you run the engine in correctly?? or did you thrash the pants of it like a teen on a RS125?? i have a k5 pointy with just under 5000 miles on the clock except mine doesnt go above 124mph since i crashed it,

Possibly ignition related, perhaps a faulty plug, lead, coil etc. Get it to the dealer.
