new mother for mothers day

had a baby son- first one - 4 days b4 mothers day. aww..

he's back at work today ...

told him I went awww on sunday and when Kim asked why I said cos Craigs wife is having her first mothers day.,..

he said dont mention THAT !..

he FORGOT !! to get her a mothers day card..!



ladies- is he in trouble or double BIG trouble?

he's got lots to think about than having to worry about needless commercialism and emotional blackmail that comes with getting/forgetting a mammas day card....

he said he told her it was mothering sunday and religious and he doesnt do religion..

the lads said he had a lazy son who should have goneand got his own card. (at 5 days old!!!)

I dont usually buy into this kinda stuff. But as a mum I work BL**DY hard, and to me mothers day is more important than my birthday. The kids make cards at school, which they are excited abaout, and bursting to tell me about during the build up! They really want to make you feel special..... and I love it! It is short lived and by the afternoon they are bickering again, but it is nice to wake up to them saying thank you for being mum.

4 days into motherhood, and they should be enjoying baby, and worry about mother's day next year. Maybe he should have given it some thought, but he is a new dad as well as her a new mum, so cut him some slack I say. The little nipper will make up for it I am sure

I sort of agree with that.

The line I'm fed from Jen constantly is "I work bloody hard as a mum." Which is true. I also do as a dad

Come mothers day, the kids make stuff for her (under instruction from me). Saves my pocket a little as I don't buy into the whole commercialism thing, and it's a more personal approach.

Come fathers day, I'm not that bothered tbh (pretty much like my bday). Sometimes we'll go away & just spend time together, which, IMO, is by far the best thing to do.

So I'm betting that this guy & the new mum were spending time together, as a family. So long as he said "Happy Mothers day" that's all that's needed IMO. Get a card next year.

My mum works really hard too. Well, i guess she works less now as a mum because we've all moved away (with the exception of my twin brother, who is saving for a house) but she still cares and supports is and eveything. I trotted on down to see her on saturday (since sunday was a poo day) and gave her a card and stayed for a few hours before riding back to do work. I think she apreciated that, since I havnt seen her for a few weeks previous.


Mums are great but why is it they know eveything your about to say, have said and are thinking but never actualy going to say?!

Because parents have a sixth sense. And your mum has seen your expressions all your life, and knows everyone of them. There is shocking depth that goes with parenthood. (note I didn't say motherhood )

It IS real magic ... but it bits you on the a*se also, because you can argue with your kids about things they are thinking!!!! Which they just don't get!

was just mentioning it for a laugh ... he jsut got some sledging thats all.. we all take the mick - sometimes we ar ein a van for many hours.. .. 3 hours to Taunton today ..

everyone is chuffed for him!.


he did say though he is sick to death of his family and friends calling to see baby.. he just wants some time as a family himself.. HA . I recall that feeling but my "babies" were over 20 and 15 years ago. so times dont change..
well they do- he has a bottle STEAMER ! ..

As time goes by you seem to remember those early days with more fondness. The lack of mothers day mention probably was her excuse for a good scrick (baby blues n all that!)
