Unhappy Think I have writer's block!!

I'm (still) trying to write a bloody dissertation! Note, it's just taken me 3 attempts just to spell the feckin thing! Not a good start. I basically have 2 weeks to get the majority of it done. Right now, I dunno where to start.

Note, I'm kinda task avoiding here...

I wish my daughter would get round to getting her's done. Ok she has another year to submit the damm thing, but has spent the last year too busy to do it. She has finished the accademic part of her masters just needs to get the thing written to get a posher gown next time.

A friend who's a senior university lecturer in creative writing suggested a way of overcoming writers block. Simply write constantly for 10 minutes (you can increase this to 15 or 20). Just write everything that comes into your head. Don't stop writing at all until the end of the time period. If you can't think of anything to write, just write 'blah blah blah...' until the words start to flow.
At the end of the time period, you should hopefully find some decent sentences in your 'stream of conciousness' that you can expand on.

btw I was only joking about buying your dissertation on Ebay. My missus got her degree in buisness and finance 5 yrs ago and has had a few people contact her to ask to buy her work. Seems there quite a few of them on Ebay. Go on make a start, you know you will feel better afterwards

Write it backwards, do your conclusion first, then when you've finished that you can start asking yourself how you came to such a conclusion. You'll pick it all apart and be able to write the other sections.

Worked for me (73%)

Hey, thanks for this link. I'm actually at the writing up stage - and have a lot of it already. I was supposed to hand it in last year, but work commitments being what they are, I was too overwhealmed to actually hand it in last year!

Some times wish I hadn't bothered starting this bloody masters in the first place

I've actually all but done the lit review. I'm now considering tackling the discussion section... Will then do either the methodology / results. I really couldn't do the conclusion yet, cos to be honest, I'm not really sure if I have concluded anything!!!! This may well be a large part of my conclusion - if I'm not more forthcoming with inspiration and ideas!!! Into will be last thing to do! I think
