Don't it unscrew from the inside?

Didn't take much notice when I binned the original undertray.

Have a look up underneath the snow shovel rear plastics, up behind where the number plate bolts on, just above the holes for the number plate bracket is another bolt that the number plate light is held on with, undo it and then you'll be able to take the number plate light off.

You know the number plate light (white, not red) is a requirement right?

That said, the pointy version screws in from the back (the front of the bike backwards, behind the tail tidy) IIRC.

Where more than one rear registration plate lamp, or bulb, is fitted as original equipment , anyone in operative lamp or bulb is a reason for rejection. (see information column: multiple number plate lights)

I think you'll find it's also a legal requirement, but possibly acceptable MOT wise.

Well what i did to satisfy the MOT was to drill some holes in the rear light pointing downwards and put 3 LED's in pointing to the plate. From behind you cant see them at all but the numberplate is lit slightly.
