Going on Honeymoon in November, Recommend me a Destination.

Getting married at end of October, need to book the honeymoon. We've been saving up and want it to be the best holiday we'll ever have, so prepared to throw some money at it.

So where to go? Its November so probably needs to be near to Equator, Europe/US will be autumn and Aus/NZ/SA will be early spring. Far East currently top of the list, Indian Ocean, Malaysia or Thailand. Anybody got any good tips?

Now, have you ruled out Glasgow completely?

Been to the Maldives twice now - Awesome is all can say.

What do you want to do on honeymoon? Apart from the obvious...

Active holiday? Or relaxing by the beach? Close to amenities or middle of no-where? Want to explore the culture or be left alone? Want to cook/clean for yourself or be pampered?

Without knowing any of that, I'd say Barnsley! You certainly won't forget it!

Current thinking is nice hotel on a beach, do plenty of laying around, bit of watersports, spa for the missus, good food and all that. Maybe a bit of culture but not that fussed, we like "adventure" holidays but not this time.

As for Glasgow, was thinking of taking the missus on a weekend break to Scotland for her birthday last year. The train fares up from London are crazy, I reckon we could fly to Thailand for the same price. So I gave her a CD instead.

We went here - absolutely fantastic place

The people on the island can not do enough for you, the food was excellent, the fish were amazing - we swam with turtles, manta rays and dolphins.

Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Hire A bike and go across America!

(my oh wants to go to Churchill to observe Polar bears for our honey moon!)

Otherwise - stay away from thailand not heard any good reports from there

As for train fares - why should that stop you book early and head up to skye, rent a wee cottage at Elgol and watch the sunrise. - You can't get anymore romantic than that! (and the cafe does fantastic hot choc)
