M48 (The other bridge)
Take A466 through the Wye valley to the A40, then A40 to Llandovery(From Abergavenny, it gets twisty and not dual carrige way and theres a good cafe in Llandovery)
Then A40 to Llanwrda, hook a right onto the A482 to Lampeter Hook another right onto the A485. Follow to end, then right onto Abergavenny.

Done this route a coupe of years back, enetertaining and simple, bit like scoobs really. There are others but involve going abck on yourself, and going through the valleys (Lots of villages one after the other and lots of 40mph speed limits )

As Viney said.. thats the way I came home yesterday.... very nice road from the A40/Llandovery side to Lampeter... BUT! watch out for the bridges, they are very sharp corners, and the road narrows going over them... i.e. any traffic coming in the other direction.. and its brown trouser moment...and usualy you dont know if somehting is coming until your on the bridge.. only small things, but the way the trees etc grow there, you dont get a good view through/over bidge...
