Default 2005 front forks on a 2000

Just wondering if its possible? Is there a difference in bolt up / assembly or is it the same?
Also I have a lead on a used set of forks off of a 2001 sv650. Would that be better to go with as far as fitting the bike?

Go with the 2001 ones... The newer ones are just fractionally better forks, but they're not as simple to fit as you'd think, loads of different parts.
