Default Fork Seals.

Helga has rather nicely decided to blow a fork seal (prob to help celibate her 50th), so looks like I'm going to have to get it done this weekend.

Now having not done this before I would love any tips or tricks you might have to do this job. I do have my manual that I will be reading through, but I know may of you will have some little insights that will make the job easier.

Also is it bad of me to ride about with this blown seal, its leaking a bit, but not chucking oil every where.

Undo the bolt in the bottom of the fork, before you undo the fork caps and take the springs out. If you try and do it after the whole lot just spins round and you'll end up putting it back together again to undo the bolt.

Oh and theres a little plastic bush that goes in there somewhere to. When you take it all apart the bush will be wedged kind of in the spring, I had trouble working out to how to get it apart, in the end I used small thin metal bar to push the bush out of where it was stuck.

Sorry this is a bit vague but it was ages ago and I can't remember, if you've got access to a haynes manual the diagrams in there a pretty useful.
