White on Black (number plates)

No, I am not talking about the merits of grainy, dubious quality, 1970s adult films.

I want to know if old style white on black rear plates are legal? I've seen some about, and I want one as- and Hovis do pay attention- I dislike yellow intensely.

If your vehicle was first registered pre-1600 BC, then yes, fine.

Otherwise, no, fsck that!

I think it is something like 1972-74 is that black plates are OK.
I have to admit though that there were a group of lads at the Ace the other day on 07 R1's in black with single line black number plates in black and silver and they looked really nice.

Yep, I think it's illegal on newer vehicles. You'll prob also need a bacon slicer on the front if it was that old.
