I would go for something faster than the SV, you will get bored after a ZXR400. Great bikes them.

i would get a duke 748, but insurance is a tad expensive
an sv650 is cheaper to insure than my zxr |

SV can **** on a zxr400, although i'm sure loads of people will say otherwise in a minute

Yeah, used to love my little VFR400
![]() ![]() Depends how you ride (or want to ride) I guess, the SV should have both more power and more accessible power but you'll feel like you're going faster on the 400 because the involvement it requires is that much greater. SV will get truly stuffed on the brakes and suspendies but not dangerously so. SV a hell of a lot more comfortable at commutes and the like though, four little pistons banging away at 13,000 rpm six inches from your nether regions induces all sorts of cramps ![]() |

I went from a Ninja 6 to a SV650s in 2002 and still have the SV. Do not regret the change.

Take one out for a test ride. The SV is a superb machine for the mony and has a cracking engine. In real terms it will be more relaxed to ride that your current machine for the same speed.
