Just been to Halfords and they do matching for bike paint as well as car paint.
Y7L (Candy Saturn Black) is 10.99 for a spray can, 7.99 for a touch up pen. Anyone used their service before? |

No, and as its a candy colour, they might not be able to. I think its for the likes of flat colours an metalics only.
Candy, by the nature of the paint is a 3 coat system. Silver under coat, Tranlucent metalic colour, then clear coat. its why its so damn expensive to get sprayed on small pannels. |

Didnt realise that.
Its just to respray a few bits on my bike until I get new panels from ebay. Not TOO fussed about it being perfect but it will be better than what it is now. |

they can do the candy colours, i used to mix them when i worked there. you are supplied with a couple of different cans/bottles. the paint isnt anything special though. i tried spraing a whole panel with the stuff and the cans are useless.
the candy colours are normally more, but if you get someone who doesnt know much, then you can get it the same price. but...if you get one of those people, they wont know how to mix it properly. they also do flip colours like the tvr tuscun colours. very very expensive though. |

well since I did my bellypan with K6 Grand Napoleon Blue I can tell u that there are 2 ways of painting it
![]() 3 coat so 1st the silver then the blue and then clear cote OR just mix the silver with the blue and spray it then clear cote! you will be VERY surprised that the outcome is exactly the same. Reason is that the blue paint is VERY watery AND it's more of a dye |

Touch up pen sounds good for thoses annoying little scratches, even if it's not perfect, I'll be popping down to Halfords in the not too distant future.
