Default Tim rants again. (cue Victor mode)

Why when you are playing out on your bike do :-

Oncoming cage drivers assume they can overtake stationary traffic on their side of the road and expect you move over to let them pass. If I had also been cage bound, they would have stopped and given me my right of way.

In a similar vain, Do they stop whilst overtaking said stationary vehicles not leaving you room to get through and refuse to reverse back, expecting you to push your bike backwards up a hill. Even though you have the right of way.

I eventually had to explain to the numpty that I didn't have a reverse gear. His reply F.O. 4 of us have had to reverse just for you. Followed by more profanity. Knowing I was totally in the right I was able to keep my cool and refused the bait to enter into an heated discussion.

Why do cyclists point their thumbs down at me and wave their arms. Oh because there is a man round the corner with a hair dryer. Thank you mr cyclist.

Tim, this is one of my pet rants. Our estate is on a narrow road on a hill with lots of bends & full of parked cars so its hard to see if you can continue through once you've started, so lots of times you meet a driver head on & neither wants to reverse. Because they're usually neighbours you have to be pleasant, but the estate has been blocked for 10 mins occasionally because neither will back up.

Are there any rules about this? The person on the correct side of the road thinks he has right of way, but the person already in the gap overtaking the parked cars was there first.

I find 4x4s are the worst for being aggressive drivers hogging the roads. Especially BMW and Merc 4x4s! A young girl got run down in my street last week because of this. She survived though

I hate this too even more so when you coming up to the end of said stationary traffic, that and cagers cutting the corner as they turn in because they see you coming and think ah sod it he can move over to the left

In the valleys the unwritten law is that vehicles going uphill have priority no matter where the obstructions are. It's a lot easier to just let the brake off than keep doing hillstarts!

*assuming you use the handbrake..... hehehe

I think you,ll find when a cyclist or trucker shows you his thumb in the down position he,s trying to be helpful to warn you of oncoming danger, an rta or a speed camera or something.

I thought this was in the hghway code...

give way to oncoming vehicles, I understood that to mean uphill vehicles had right of way. It makes sense, no matter how big or small the vehicle.

My pet hate at the mo is....

I live near a large local quarry. The very large wagons that come out of the quarry have a steep climb, to then approach the public highway, which is also a very steep road. Now then, I understand that they do not want to re-start a 30 ton truck on a steep, really I do ...... BUT THAT IS NOT MY PROBLEM. I have right of way, they should give way ..... instead they crawl out in front of you (after having eyeballed you when checking, oh yes they definately see you), at 5 mph, forcing you to brake hard, and ALL of us crawl up the remaining hill at 5 mhp. KN*BS

Then, if you do have the nerve to express your irritation at being bullied you get given the V's ..... KN*BS

If they showed some courtesy, I would probably give them the gentle wave to carry on, because I do understand, but big boy bully's don't scare me, The next one to do this is getting it!! It will probably me on Tuesday, on my way to work, this must happen at least 4 times a week

sorry rant over
