Talking Nightwish...

Through the wonders of modern technology I've obtained a copy od Nightwish - 'End of an Era' - suu...effin...perb!! I'm climbing through the screen to be part of the atmosphere. Not to eveyone's taste I know but hey! I've just seen the bit where they play Floyd's 'Division Bell'. Awesome...as was phantom. This vid is with the original singer - they've just got a new one who's a honey...mmmmmmm..gotta go...the next track beckons...I am having the best time!! At home? Weird.

Blokes...know your place!! Enjoying yourself!!

Sure I posted something similar earlier - I've only had 2 'nippy sweeties'...is there a prob with the forum tonite?
Or is it just me and finger failure?

Not wierd, Nightwish rock.

I can thoroughly recommend all their albums but in particular:

Once, Wishmaster and Century Child

hmmm must mosey on over to their site now they got round to replacing Tarja. Shame it came to what it did cos they were superb, but I suspect if they have a decent new singer they will continue to evolve and get better.

Finnish music rocks... reminds me to go check out the new Apocalyptica stuff too And I need to take into work the Metallica cd of theirs cos someone doesnt believe 4 cellos playing Metallica is good

Ah = LynW - you do have impeccable taste! Just got to the end of the movie. Loved every second. Sadly, I only discovered Nightwish when they released Wishmaster, but I've heard a few tracks from Once. Looking forward to hearing what the new vocalist has to offer - will she do any of the back catalogue? They really are very visual...those Finnish...so Vikinesque!! The Bass player seems a nice chap!! Best Friday night I've had in for ages!!

Hmmm...*off to check up on Apocalyptica*...(my daughter wnet to se Metallica last year, I'm only slightly greener than grass with envy..grrr!!).

Any chance of Nightwish coming to the screaming Metropolis of...Plimifff?

Other Finnish bands I like:

Lordi which if you get past the Eurovision win are actually a pretty decent band. Certainly if you go to their site they have Blood Red Sandman, The Devil is a Loser and Would You Love a Monsterman as vids playing in addition to Hard Rock Hallelujah. Great songs

Stratovarius too... love Eagle Heart bummer is I lost the CD in Northampton last time I was staying there... too drunk and left the bag with them in somewhere

Love Nightwish, hate Tarja. From what I've heard of the new stuff the lass seems up to the challenge.

I've been into Apocalyptica ever since I heard the debut "Plays Metallica by Four Cellos", amazing stuff. I've got every album since then, check out "Reflections", that's probably my fave but all the rest are incredible too.

youtube have loads of their stuff, try Hope, Qutaamo or Faraway initially, you won't be disappointed.

Oh, and btw, Perttu Kivilaakso has just broken his hand, no supporting act for Metallica until he's healed, gutted for him.
