Default Last 28 miles home from Soho at 55mph in 4th gear

Why was I doing this?, cus the bike lost power. I was chasing a Merc down the A3 last night just before Hindhead, and Helga suddenly lost power. Just like when you loose a fron cylinder in the rain, sometime power sometimes not. I nursed her to a illuminated spot near the lights at Hindhead and checked for oil leaks or anything else. Nothing, nada, anything.

So I rode her the rest of the way home at that speed and gear as it seemed the only way I had any power, or stop the bike popping and farting most of the way home.

Now I suspect that its one of 2 things, a breaking down coil, or a a failing spark plug. I hope its the spark plug as I have spares of those.

Could be a broken down plug-cap...or bad contact between your HT lead and plug cap.

I had a loose coil connection that behaved similar to this, when the vibrations made the contact again normal service would briefly resume, then cut out again. Wip off the tank and airbox and check all the coil/spark connections, including the supply.

Try taking the plug off (they screw off apparently) & re-crimping the end of the HT lead, then put the plug connector back on, as well as all the other suggestions.
