Bluecrest Capital Management Ltd

We are Europe’s third largest hedge fund with approximately $11.8bn* under management and a reputation as one of London’s premier investment houses. The firm started operating in 2000 and has been building an impressive track record since, having won the Eurohedge Fund of the Year Award in 2001 in its class, a nomination for the same award in 2002 and the Asset Management Firm of the Year Award in 2004. In 2005 the firm was nominated for the Management Firm of the Year Award as well as two of its funds (BlueCrest Strategic and BlueTrend) nominated for Fund of The Year in their respective categories. We now employ over 275 people in London with a further 12 in Chicago.

Senior C# Developer – Systematic Trading Implementation

We are looking for a strong C# developer with a proven delivery record. We require a candidate with the skills and drive to take responsibility for projects of any size and to run with them (often alone) to completion. Being self-sufficient enough to take control of personal projects is as important as being the team player. If Investment Banking experience is not present, then the candidate will have to show basic financial knowledge and present the desire to learn such topics to a high degree.

The team currently develops the technology behind the systematic trading program which currently manages $4bn. You will be an important part in continuing the development of our in-house software that is on the frontiers of current trading technology.

Duties

• Take or produce a specification based on business requirements, produce a design and implement that design. There is the possibility of working alone as well as in a team so the appropriate skills to do either will be required.
• To quickly familiarise oneself with legacy code (mainly written in C#) with the intent of enhancing the work and/or fixing defects where appropriate.
• To liaise with traders and other business users to streamline products and to aid their manual trading endeavours.

Core Skills

• Extensive experience/understanding of .Net and the C# language.

• Demonstrable OO design skills and design pattern knowledge

• Database design and SQL query writing skills

• Knowledge of development methodologies and the utilisation of automated CI [Continuous Integration] processes.

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work in often highly pressurised environments

• Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst producing high quality code

Desirable skills:

• Investment Banking/Automated trading knowledge

• Service Oriented Architecture
• Remoting/WCF skills

• Messaging technologies (Tibco/Msmq/MQSeries)

In return BlueCrest can offer a highly professional working environment with intellectually challenging responsibilities. We also offer attractive compensation including annual bonus and a full benefits package.

I'd consider it,but would need to be professionally head hunted and offered the sort of package that included a huge ego massage and all the gold I could eat.
