We had a failry slow broadband in the office and it creaked a bit but at least it worked. We upgraded it to 8Mb.
So - BT have cancelled our old account and opened a new one - why they do this defeats me. Especially given that I pay through the nose for a static IP address as our case management software needs one - meaning that clients can use Fileview and see what's going on on their files. Well now they can't, as BT have f*cked it up. We can't get it back for at least 2 days, it won't be the same address either, meaning I have to contact the Fileview provider and pay them to modify. Cue client complaints. Why do they do this? I didn't ask them to cancel my static address. Taken all morning and much of the afternoon to sort out, nobody pays me for downtime. I'm only posting this because we have a new non-static address. ![]() |

BT are rubbish, they did this to one of my customers the other day, changed the MX records instead of the A record, no mail for 2 days.
O2 are brilliant, I'm getting 14 Meg down and 1 Meg up. All that for a tenner! Free UK based customer service too. |

I found that BT are rubbish until you spend alot of money with them.
We had them install DWDM link between us and another site, all of a sudden we get a much better level of service from them now.

If that is the case Ed, drop me a PM. My old manager has just left to go for a managerial job at BT OpenZone. I always did have a good rapore with her, and I'm sure someone in the office still has her contact details.
