Default sat nav..... a few Q's

if you have it, do you listen to it, or is it ok just to use the screen (this sounds a bit dangerous to me)

as on long jurneys i like to listen to music, but i also like not to get lost.

so whats the best solution?

I have the satnav on my PDA which I listen to through headphones.
I have just bought a bluetooth headset which allows me to listen to music as well make calls, hoping that it will allow me to listen to the satnav as well.
I find looking at the screen very distracting and dangerous.

I can't do both. Listen to music when I know where I'm going, listen to my Sat nav when I don't.
Sorry can't help.
Can't you get a 2 into 1 headphone jack adapter to listen to both at the same time. The sat nav is silent most of the time & just set the music quieter?

Car - both look and listen, looking is primarily just useful for checking the next deviation (ie. just keep going straight for the next three miles then left at the roundabout).

On the bike, well, bike's kinda off the road at the mo, having previously slid down it... but just look, I haven't hooked up any earphones (not sure you even can on my model to be honest), just chuck it in the map window pocket of a tank bag.

It's not like they constantly rabbit on, on long journeys you're likely just doing long straight roads so it's not constantly going to be interrupting yer hardcore belgium trance / drum & bass / whatever.

Looking I find easier. However my gps won't work if inside my coat. It needs a line of sight to the sky.

Which system are you running? Tom tom 5/6 or co pilot? Are there any requirements where it has to be for the system to work?
