Default Advice and Lodgings.

As some of you know I was in London today for a interview, in Cannon street. Now if I was to get the job I'm looking at about 155 miles a day, which is about 1hr 40 to 2 hrs each way. Though I still need to sort the route out on that as the route I took in sucked.
Now I could just do that every day, but with the winter setting in it going to be difficult. So I have the choice of looking for lodgings or something else, though I'm not sure what?
So anyone got a room to rent? 3-4 days a week, I might need it...

Unless you have another idea...

Public transport? Train/Tube ... Cannon St ... ain't that near Bank tube station? or am I thinking Cannon St. station LOL

Ah, it's just around the corner from Bank ... that's why I remember it now

Mansion House st. ain't too far either ... or London Bridge ... just depends which end of Cannon St. you working I think

I used to work on Southwark Bridge Road. Lovely walk across the river (using Southwark Bridge of course, still can't get the hang of that walking on water thing) every morning on my way from Bank.

I'd rather take a lower paid job closer to home than a high paid job that meant I missed out on time with my family etc etc

Well depending on what they offer its between 10-18 grand more then I'm on, plus the job would look great on my CV. I have looked at the train but I'm looking at 2 and half hours each way without delays.

Grinch, I do 200 miles a day, luckily it's a contract till March. It does take it out of you a bit. I'd do public transport (if it went to where I want to go!) But I'm also looking at rising petrol prices and thinking if I've got to do this sort of mileage on the next contract, I really have to consider puttting the hourly rate up. I've been seduced before by the money, working in London, and everything that goes with it. But as Fizzwheel says, your personal time is important too.
