Nope, I A: don't count them and B: swap wheels/tyres all the time, so never really wear one start to finish .. and finally C: ALL my tyres are 2nd hand

I have run road 207s (not their RRs) I liked them, but they did wear fast!!

You liked D207s...they are the worst tyres I have ever fitted to any motorcycle - they didn't inspire confidence at all. I liked the D207RRs though.

The even older D204 was a horrid tyre, but I liked the D207s in their day ... the 207RRs were exactly the same as the 207s, just with stiffer walls weren't they?!?

Softer compound on an RR, the GP was a different carcass (pointier front) with RR rubber

Ah right, remember there was some combination of compound and carcass across the 3 models. To be honest I can't remember if it was the 207 or 207GPs I was running on the road, we are talking what 8-9 years ago now! deffo NOT the RRs though, I remember that much!

I also remember they lasted <1k road miles, so prolly the GPs

The road compound... Chose those over track as they're supposed to be less sensitive to heat cycling, and I wouldn't have tyre warmers... Also, I rode to and from trackdays so the streetier the better

May think about purchasing a pair then, sounds like what I'm looking for. Sticky and cheap And with enough roadability not to spit me off from cold.

The SC Pros (again exactly the same as rennsports) in track compound actually work pretty well on the road - even from cold and in the wet - too!! ... but if you are buying new, it deffo makes more sense to get the proper road ones!!
