Are they much work for a DIY fit? I tend to avoid electrics if I can.

According to an article in the current MCN, one of the new BMW models offers HIDs as an option. The article raves about them, then syas that they are legal on a motorcycle, even without the self leveling lights and lens washers, neither of which is fitted to that bike!

Edit, It's a K1300GT.

I got a set on my pointy and they are very bright and blue

I have gone from 70's electrics to present day tech and the difference is amazing.

Looking on the Harris website though to see how much they were (had them already fitted when i got the bike) and they say they're only for off road use?

But it's MCN, I'll believe it when I see it hehe.
They can be legal with self levelling suspension too, maybe BMW has this?

Lol. My RD400 has Princess Diannas headlight. About 35w in a really bad reflector...

I would avoid the very blue ones myself. I've got the 6k and it's just about liveable. Any hotter would be taking the pi$$!
