Sounds like you had a great time...
Germany always has had a big biker following that hang around the Nurburg Ring. Pitty you didn't get out.. but at least you saw some action.
Glad you made it there and back in one piece.

Hey Folks,

here are a selection of the photos i took...

Leaving York, bike looking all spanking clean... not for long!

[img] [/img]

Dover, 7am.. chucking it down!

[img] [/img]

Liege, Brussels - getting front tyre fitted after asking Bandit man for help - still think he was my guardian angle... i was wearing my St Christopher!

[img] [/img]

Aachen, Germany. This is a picture of Steve checking his R6 (again) - as you can see, he doesn't look happy.

[img] [/img]

As you can see, Nurburg ring... Take note of the absence of dark skys and wet roads! Sunshine!!!

The following few photos are just of the roads and scenery, i wont comment on them, just take the views in and dream of the freedom...

[img] [/img]

This last photo above is of the cafe where i got chatting to the foreign bikers. The cafe is just about 200 meters inside the Luxembourg border line.

[img] [/img]

[img] [/img]

Luxembourg City centre - such a lovely place.

[img][/img]

On the ferry approaching Dover... look - clear skys.. isnt that just sods law!!!

[img] [/img]

Me, back at home - photo taken to my dad, who heard me coming and had a cup of tea waiting for me - what a guy! I was tired, i ached and was in a daze.. but what an experience. Luxembourg to York in 1 day.

This is the closure of the post. Hope you have all enjoyed reading my posts, and that these pictures add a little life to the story. I didnt post them all as there is about 50 all in. But this is a good mixture.

To any one out there thinking of doing it.. its highly recommended. Do NOT hesitate, book that ferry crossing today!

"Cold now, warm later. Wet now, dry later. Miserable now, laughing later. Lose control to find freedom!

These are the days that must happen to us... absolutely baby!"

Thanks to Dan Walsh of Bike Magazine for the inspiration.

Quality stuff GYKD

I too plan to do some of this. Time being the difficult factor for me. Butr i'm determined that its either this year or next.

Dan walsh's articles are great too and i can see why he inspired you to get out and do it. That last photo of you arriving back. Talk about satisfied with a trip well done

Nice one.

Riding in a foriegn country is fun, I remember carefully riding on the RHS and getting to my first roudabout. Doh I went round clockwise.

Was even worse when I eventually got back to blighty, felt very strange to ride on the right side of the road

Wow! What a difference a year makes!

This time last year i was in Belgium/Germany heading towards Aachen!

Ive actually found a load more pics i took whilst out there so i will upload them all tonight when i get home - they bring the story to live a little better than the select few i posted up.

If anyone is contemplating something like this this year, DO IT! NOW!!!

It was fantastic and i still think about it to this day. Cant wait to get my license back and do it all again!
