a fair few more ££ though as i can get helicoil for free, the hole is also all ready there so no problems with going to deep

Squirrel has always said that Suzuki stopped designing the SV when it got to the swing arm.

I'd agree with that. Budget bike built to a price. By the time they got to the swingarm maybe they realised they had run out of money so just cobbled a piece of junk together and said 'that'll do'.
