I have been having simlar issues, in that the battery has gone flat in several days, then the bike wouldn't start...When I put the bike on the optimate it says that my battery is weak.

However my bike has been running fine for well since I got back to London! Its started okay for work, then getting home, to soho and back then to watford and back today! Thats running heated grips on full power.

I do have a data tool alarm on the bike, as well. So will a good run sort the bike out? Its going back to have alarm looked at....I just hoping that it just needs a long run to get back up and running.

yausa YTZ14S, more CCA than the 12, same size as the 12, newer gel type battery, ive got one on my SV and it now turns over and fires even on freezing days in less than 1s compared to my old battery which was on its way out after 5yrs, if it was not so cold then the battery would have been fine but my engine does not like slow cranking, does not help that its had the engine timing advanced. WEMOTO £69, get good battery it will last you.

You think, well compared to a IL4 its hungry for power, compared to TL i would say that even then it may be on par with it as the TL has decompressers that make it easier to start.

ps. A few things that people can do to help their bikes start in this cold weather.
1. Turn of all lights (granted cant be done on pointies) and heated grips etc..
2. Dont start bike in gear
3. If you have clutch bypass mod done, still hold clutch fully in when starting.

Pop into your local Hondoody dealer and you should get a genuine Yuasa/Honda one for £50 to take away.

Just to clarify??????
If I walk into a Honda dealer and ask for a battery for a NTV700 Deauville I should be supplied with a YTZ14S for £50???????
