The single biggest thing you can do is...

Dont make it so you have to register to view the forum, nothing annoys me more than this. I want to read the forum before I join to see what its like and whether or not I think I'll fit in.

If I cant read whats on your forum without registering TBH it p*sses me off so much that I cant be bothered with it and I'll move on and find another forum.

I can see you have a section called Idel banter, well thats spelt wrong for a start. Again its all to do with presentation and being welcoming.

Get somebody to check the spelling etc etc etc.

Best of luck with it, I think your going to struggle theres so so many forums out there that are established and cater for your audience. So you need to come up with something that attracts users in and as said above if they cant read it without registering we'll they'll just pass you by, I know I would...

That's exactly the point a number of us have been making. The name cruisingforclunge IS going to have that effect on people (unless they are the aforementioned Airfix-kitted Nova/Impreza/Fiesta mob)

AS a former heavily modified car person, who's missis has graced front covers, and done me myself have done many a bit of work for a magazine, I hate to put a downer, but illegal cruising has died a slow death years ago, only to be replaced with neds in nissans drifting.

Theres so many modified car forums, and the previous Kent cruising site got into loads of legal problems with the police and ended up shutting down.

Your walking a tightrope, unlunless you have some mega new detail to offer the modified car world it won't go to far.

Not being negative, just my experience of 10 years of modified cars, seeing many really big sites take a tumble.

Its a keyboard, use the full letters. For this talk alone, many of the top modified car people I knew would never use it. Text talk is usually reserved for the "neds and boyracers" i've mentioned, and unless you are one, you detest the text talk...

at 21, i am probably at the age you are aiming at for your site thingy.
i also have a (pseudo-) sports bike and was very much in the modified car scene when i was 16-18. i have been on cruises with some fabulously beautiful modified cars and still lust after evos, although best car i've ever owned was a 2.0l golf GTi so i cant claim to have had a fabulously modified car, however, even at 17 when i was at the height of my mod-knowledge, i would never have joined a site thats called that.
i found it very funny when i read the name at first, because i thought it was a joke. and i think the inbetweeners is hilarious dont get me wrong, but also, at 17, i wouldnt have been very happy if my boyfriend frequented a forum called which, suggested by the name, means he would be driving around looking for girls
