Leisurelakes are in Daventry mate, tucked behind Maccy D's.

As much as I dont like using them, they do have some good bits and pieces.

Theres a red cube carbon hard tail that is simply beautiful in there pre owned, was thinking about picking it up for myself but cant justify a grand on another bike (already have 5...)

Get yourself a nice CUBE acid or a Specialized rock hopper for £800 mark. Both hard tails but with good frames, think they both run 100mm travel rock shox dart but can't be sure without having a look.
Used can be a bargin but if (as you said in your previous post) you don't have a clue you could end up with a dog.

Go to a local Evans and ride around on things under a grand until you find what you like then go buy it online from someone else for a lot lot less. Evans are a rip off.

So how does the Rockrider 8.1 compare to either of these?

Is it simply price or is there a difference in spec that makes the extra money worthwhile?

Cube acid or Rockhopper you say? Will hae a looksee now

This is appealing. Although again it's a big jump from the £500 Rockrider.

The first link you posted are two very different bikes in terms of how they will feel.
Ones steel and ones alu.

Yeah I might do. Depends on time and day really. When were you planning on going?

You may just have to settle for strong...
I think it was Bontrager that said "Strong. Light. Cheap. Pick two."
