I've been offered a Scott Addict R4 of 08 vintage, with full Dura-Ace, FSA 50mm tub wheels, integrated seat tube and a weight of around 7kg for £1k. To be honest, I think its too much bike, too soon. Probably no good for the Sportives that I'm planning on doing either. More a race bike. Any thoughts?

For a 3 year old bike I'd say it was a bit overpriced? Depends on the wheels.
Its always hard to put a used value on a bike. Is it 9 speed Dura Ace? Very nice, but everything in Shimano right down to Tiagra will be 10 speed in 2012 Definitely more race orientated than Sportive, with those wheels.

Fixie turned up (finally) yesterday. Wasn't expecting it to come with brakes...but it did.
Lovely ride, did about 20 miles on it and was interesting at first, but very fun. Struggled a bit (more than usual) on the hills, and knackered today but thoroughly enjoyable experience. |

Just finished assembling this bad boy. Best thing about it, is its cost bugger all to put together, just had to buy a new headset, tyres, cables & a chain.
The frame was a freebie off Freecycle(  ) and the rest of the parts come from my vast stock of parts & donor bikes.Its really lightweight (  )
