I think I might just stick a picture of that on my garage wall to motivate me

Really? IIRC I couldn't catch her to get a close enough look! However another cyclist may have slowed down to enjoy the view.....

Have any of you looked at those "Kinetic" Turbo trainers, that move and flex around, supposed to give a more realistic road like riding experience.

I looked at it, and looked at quite a few reviews but some werent so favourable. I think the complaint was that it was counter intuitive as it doesnt quite work like the natural feeling when riding on a road.

I have the standard Kinetic Road Machine which is an excellent bit of kit. I can still get out of the saddle and go for a sprint. I've got the pro flywheel on it too which adds a lot of resistance.

Just finished putting my winter hack together, full SKS mudguards, so maybe I'll go out Boxing Day for an hour, as I haven't been out for a while.

Whilst you lot have no doubt been sitting around, I've been out this morning, even if it was just to get away from Buggsy Malone on the Tv.

Bright, sunny & warm (for the time of year) here on the east coast and plenty of other peeps out on their bikes too, including one guy in shorts & short sleeved jersey!

Was a successful test of my newly put together winter bike, I called it a hack, but the frame is a Raleigh 7005 alloy frame, with carbon forks, plus all shimano stuff. Apart from not quite getting the replacement cleat position right on one shoe, the rest of the bike is spot on. Plus it's got full proper mudguards, which means I'm not afraid of any puddles.

Haven't taken a close look but there's a review of turbos and rollers in the current Cycling Plus mag and a Kinetic with the wobbly gizmo was the best turbo.

Not cheap though.

The weather this week has been perfect, yesterday stopped looking out the window longingly and got out on the bike for a 50 miler with Dave around some of the hillier parts of South Essex. Great day out, even sat out in the pub garden for half an hour not bad for December 27th

Yep weather is great here today, but didn't feel well yesterday, thought I was coming down with a cold, but today, symptoms have gone?

Still I'll have a rest and get out on Friday, if the weather is still as good
