Does anyone know if bottom brackets are left or right thread? Just tried taking one out of my daily and the tool snapped after I put a bar on it.

Left hand one (as you sit on it) does up in the normal way

Right hand cup does up the other way ie the wrong way

But BB's are prone to seizing in place, if the threads wren't greased regularly.

Depending on what the cups are made of, its probably safe to say they might not come out.

Any water or moisture goes down the seat tube & collects in the BB with obvious results

I think I used an impact gun attached to my extractor to loosen one stubborn BB cup.

I had a similar problem with a pedal I couldn't remove from a crank.

Might have to soak it then use a chisel as my tool slipped and broke.
