Something like this is a good compromise, not full on MTB shoe, but not full on smooth soled road shoe either

They're the shoes I use with the pedals posted previously

Furthest I've ridden on the road was 58miles, that was without an issue.
I'll be riding 26miles off road on the 13th July I can let you know how I get on then if you're not sorted by then but I largely suspect I'll be fine with that too.

Picked my Genesis Day One up this afternoon.

It's a proper grin bike and reminds me of my raleigh mirage when I was 12.
Cycling to work is going to be great fun!

Does anyone have any thoughts?
Here's another folding bike, it doesn't fold down quite as small as a Brompton, but in my mind it would be nicer to ride over the distances you're going to do.

The only problem I know about these bikes is that they can break around where the seat mount joins the main downtube

I have been to Evans cycles a few times and I have moved away from a folding bike and towards a road/hybrid bike with flat bars.

Really like the HOY range atm.

I'll keep a lookout for you results on Strava.

I'm going to pop over to a local TT route in the morning and see what I can do over the 10 mile course, if I'm quick enough I may have a go in the week, I've never done anything like that before... so we shall see. Hall of shame will be up on Strava in the afternoon!

Garmin is going in the car to go on charge on the USB so I can't fail to take it.
The gator skins and conti tubes have just gone in the rims along with that rim tape ( I now see why the old stuff was so poor).
The gears have all been adjusted and its ready to race. Oh and it's been cleaned
