As you'd expect mate, they'll look down their aero helmets and think who does he think he is!

It'll be different once you've wiped the floor with them!

There's plenty of choice here, I'd maybe go for a 32mm tyre, as it'll roll a bit better than the 37mm?

Continental or Vittoria are what I'd be looking at. Both have a good rep as regards puncture resistance

It has 35 mm contis on it now and they roll quite nice, I suppose the 32 is probably the best fit. Although that said the bigger tyres will handle the tracks better won't they?

Aye, they should do, but it might depend on the surface? Which will also change with the weather won't it?

If its hard packed, then the 32's would be better, but if its wet then the 35's would be better, its always going to be a bit of a compromise and not worthwhile having a spare set of wheels due to the hub gears.

hmm, decisions decisions. If i go for mudguards that are 27-35 will they suit a 35 mm tyre ? or do I need something bigger.

They'll be alright I suppose, but you won't know until you fit them?

At least with bigger guards you'll get more protection?

Might also pay to see if the bigger guards fit ok, as that could be a needless expense if they don't fit

I'll get them from halfrauds so i can return them. Was actually thinking about putting 45mm mudguards on for more protection as you say. Just wondered if it was normal to get guards the size of the tyre or always go a bit bigger.

On my winter bike I run 25mm Conti's and my mudguards are up to 35mm I think

Bike & me stay nice and clean, including the front mech, although rear mech & casstte still get cruddy.

Might also pay to see what they look like on the bike, as too big can look carp
