In this heat as well, you're going to suffer some serious dehydration so my advice would be to water up before and after.
Good luck with it pal

Only been on the bike once since my race last sunday, that was to ride to work and back yesterday.
You'll have to let me know how you take to it as I'd love to entry more things locally, just for the added incentive to ride to work if nothing else.

I managed a 28 on my only 10 TT so you will have no problem beating that. Mavic is right, just enjoy it.

Sent from my phone.

Cheers for the advice, I'm quite excited which doesn't happen too often nowadays and I'm certainly not taking this one too seriously as the mudguards will be staying on!

Will do Matt, I got a bit fed up with the same old commute especially in the summer for some reason, varying it and doubling or even tripling the length worked for me. Your commute is about 10 miles the same as mine in a straight line and it's a funny old distance, the legs are just about warmed up and ready to do some real work at 10 miles and to stop at that point feels somehow disappointing..

Aye, your 10mile is a damn site flatter than mine though, I'm warmed up in under 3miles... if I'm not then I've got a long way to roll back lol.

I've worked out if I were to leave Leeds heading to Wakefield then round Dewsbury before heading into Heckmondwike from the South as opposed to the North then I can make an 18mile ride with far fewer climbs out of my commute, my reckoning is it'll take me marginally longer than the 10mile(as the crow flys) that I do now.

Looks good, similar to the elevation profile for my current commute ironically my route was chosen to include as many hills as possible, you Northerners don't know how lucky you are

.......so the challenge will be sub 1 hour???

I am using Runkeeper for my cycle routes. Is strava any better?

I've not seen Runkeeper, Strava is tailored for cycling and you can compare your performance against yourself and others over segments, also there's a SV650.org group

Another +1 for Strava, I use it on my Garmin, but I've also got it on my phone
