He had a modified front mech to save weight. I also think he changed gear when he had full pressure through the drive chain, I've done that before and the chains popped off the front ring which is what looked liked happened.

I saw that Schleck had a very quick word with Contador when they were walking past each other following the Jersey presentations. Love to have been able to see what they were saying to each other.

Isnt it amazing how they just keep on powering up these climbs? I just cant comprehend how they manage it. I've been up some steep hills, but usually only a few hundred metres long, nothing like 10's of Km's long!

Very tense stage today, shame it didnt come to a full blown attack by one or the other. Schleck rode himself to 2nd place today, I dont know whether he had anything in the tank after that push from Contador. Menchov will have to push Sanchez on the TT.

Was excellent viewing though. Loved the looks that Schleck was giving Contador

Bargain if you're in the market for SPD-SL pedals:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=47601

They are rebadged Ultegra SPD-SL pedals. Same weight, same RRP, etc, but anodised black and renamed PD-R670 (6700 is Shimano's Ultegra "series" number). They are exactly the same other than the colour.

They were the same price as the Ultegras but are now in the sale for £45 inc cleats whereas the Ultegra badged silver ones are still £63.

Shimano do this, i.e. rebadge "series" kit (105, Ultegra, etc) and give it a model number very similar to the "series" stuff. The brakes on my bike are badged BR-R560 and are really 105s (series number is 5600).

Hope this saves someone a few quid

Anyone planning on watching any stages of the Tour of Britain? Wiggins and Thomas are in the provisional Sky squad.

Stage 2 passes about 5miles from here, so I'm definitely going to catch that one.
