Thats a decent bike and at the price IMHO thats a lot of bike for the money.

Its not full 105 on the groupset though, the calipers look to be Tiagra, which personally I wouldnt have a problem with, but just thought I would point it out.

Its 10 speed though, IIRC 105 is now up to 11 speed, so thats last years 105, again it wouldnt put me off.

You'll see alot of this at this time of year, where people are discounting last years model bikes to get them out of their shops.

Thanks fizz, hopefully I can get the work to do C2C scheme for me and I might pop back in, I won't be buying a gravel bike though.
Sadly, I also really like the look of this too and its only £400 more

Billy Bilslands is my local, good to see they take the Halfords vouchers as our scheme is through them.

I still find myself looking at second hand bikes, crazy savings to be made on often little used bikes!

yep Fizz is right, its a great price for a lot of bike. The only thing that puts me off is that the rear wheel can't run an 11speed cassette, as its old school R501, should you want to upgrade to 11speed in the future. Its more expense, and annoys me that Shimano didn't make their old 10 speeed wheels upgradable. If they were Mavic, then the freehubs would take an 11 speed no problem.

Plenty of people upgrading 105 11speed to Ultegra or Sram 11 speed , i dont understand the logic as 105 works like a dream. Stilll makes for cheap upgrades

Its a cheap rear wheel, which you could use on your Decathlon, IF you decided to upgrade to 11speed in the future, so all is not lost.

And If it were me and I did upgrade that to 11speed, i'd upgrade the Decathlon to 10speed from the Cannondale, so its not such a bad thing to buy it at that price.

The basis of a good bike is the frame, get the best you can afford, then the wheels. Ive always looked at it that way, dont be afraid to recycle () parts onto another bike, and don't worry about 2nd hand parts, most are barely used. People upgrade for the snob factor

A good example of someone upgrading from 105, although not so much for snob value in this case

105 5800 sti's for £75, barely used, £109 at Merlin. Which is the biggest cost of upgrading, front (£17) & rear mech (£22) required, plus the cassette (£19) and chain (£11). You don't need to change the chainset, as a 10 speed one will work with 11 speed just fine.

Planet X have some of their older version Pro Carbon framed builds going cheap right now...
http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBPXSLP...4700-road-bike

It's Tiagra 10 speed which is just trickled down rebadged 105 10 speed. Would save you a load of money to put aside for a future rear wheel and other bits if you go 11 speed sometime.

Maybe not as desirable as some other makes of bikes but their pro carbon frames ride surprisingly well for the money.

Actually rereading the spec on that it's a 10 / 11 speed compatible wheelset. All Tiagra too, not had the chainset substituted for a non-groupset heavyweight one as most do.

I currently ride old 5700 105 10 speed, which is what that Tiagra will be in essence. It's ok. Shifting is definitely crisper on the 11 speed, both 105 and Ultegra, apparently due to improve cable routing. I do find mine feels a bit flexi / spongey on the right hand shifter sometimes but I've got used to it. All the 11 speed stuff I've ever fitted on customers bikes has shifted really positively and worked really well.

yep, 5800 shifts better than 5700 I've got both. Even with new cables 5700 isn't as crisp. Ultegra 6700 is as crisp as 5800. Fitting cables on 5700 is very fiddly compared to 5800
