Any tips you guys? Already raised saddle heights, but it's weird it's just started in the last 3 weeks when I have been cycling a lot for the last 6 months or so!
If you're still getting pain whilst off the bike i'd get it looked at mate.

As far as the bike is concerned just check a few things before you're next cycle.

Make sure you're saddle is completely level, not tilted up or down.

If you're using clipless pedals you'll need to take into take into account the stack height. So make sure you wear the same shoes when setting saddle height and go cycling. When sitting on the bike, you're knee should have a slight bend in it at the bottom of the pedal stroke. Basically when you pedal you're hips shouldn't be rocking from side to side.

Check you're cleat position, with you're shoe on try and feel for the little sticky out bone on the inside of you're foot. I tend to line this bone up with the centre of the cleat.

If not already, subscribe to the GCN YouTube channel. There is some really helpful videos on there to help you get set up correctly.

Cheers Colin, will check out the position and also that youtube channel.

I use and MTB and a Road bike, both on flat pedals at the mo. Just thinking it's come about on the road bike so it's the position on that I am mainly gonna have to look at. Either that or my knee is just broken!

It's only a little sore off the bike but a trip to the docs might be worthwhile. I also get some physio sessions free with my gym membership so might be worth talking to one of them!

If you've got access to a physio, go see them first. Unless the doctor is interested in sport, then I've found them to be a waste of time.

Physios are much more in tune with sportspersons

This might sound daft Alan but could it also be because your trying your best in the back of your mind to not hurt your other knee? It could be a bit of over compensation? But who am I to know? Its just a wee thought though...

Yes I'm a daftie BTW!!! But bar the wind the weather was perfect this afternoon...

Also, as a note for the local guys, coming down the Crow Road towards Fintry is Epic. Nearly 7 minutes of averaging 30mph, and the climb out isn't too bad either (its a little rough though)

This sort of thing is most likely to happen on the stronger leg apparently, and in my case there is probably a bigger difference in strength than most. So you are probably onto something.

Weather today was awful this morning but did look fine in the avo. Ooh I really do wanna do whole of Crow rd from Lennoxtown to Fintry. Highly considering hitting the co-codamol and doing it tomorrow but that's probably a bad idea

Tomorrow, well I'm gonna be looking at E-Bay and seeing what happens with the bike I'm looking at. I'm guessing the price will go way past what I'm willing to risk on a bike I haven't seen but if it doesn't I might stick in a cheeky wee bid

I also need to get some new inner-tubes, which will hardly break the bank.

I'm planning on going out on Sunday if your interested Alan, I've spent the evening trying to work out routes on Strava.

I didn't get it. Not to worry, I have a bike and I'll get another one soon.
