Haha I have really considered it, but if I do change the groupset and other bits I have then spent £800 on a bike that's meant to be quite cheap. And really it's fine and dandy as it is. I will do some other bits but wanna try and keep it under £500.

After 5 years the only original bits on my Tifosi are frame, forks, seatpost and mudguards ....these things happen!

He'll change it up soon. I mean he could sell the B'twin and almost pay for a groupset
![]() I was talking bartape a few posts back has anyone got any experience with gel inserts like these? Are they worth the money on top of buying better tape?

Those gel inserts work but they can make the bars feel a bit chunky.
I bought Bontrager gel tape with the bontrager gel pad inserts included too. With the inserts fitted under the gel tape the bars were way too chunky, so removed the gel inserts and been happy with just the Bontrager gel tape on it's own. I've been happy enough that I've used it on a few bikes since. The Bontrager is non adhesive, rubber back sticks under tension, so easy to remove and rewrap a few times if it goes wrong. Also easy to remove and re-use for the following... Cheaper alternative is when changingout old bar tape, just cut a few short sections and wrap short bits around pressure / resting point on your bars (where those gel inserts would sit eg, top corners, top of lower drops). Then just put your new bar tape on as normal and you'll have some extra padded areas underneath. Helps if the old stuff is gel tape too. Last edited by Adam Ef; 16-02-16 at 02:18 PM.
