Took a trip up to N Wales this weekend to ride at Llandegla.
What a place, managed to do all the black runs without falling off. must of been going too slow. took ages to clean and service my bike today though. |

Awwww. Im not sure what to doooooo.
I built myself a nice "Trail" (I think thats the one, a stronger XC type thing) but have recently seen the Scott Voltage FR30. £1450 and it comes with some pretty nice (for the money) equipment and looks the dogs... What should I do though... Im not sure, its still a fair amount of money. I like the idea of having a pretty hard bike, I've been doing a little more hard riding lately and I think this would suit me well. Though I will have to get 3 rings on that crank tbh. ![]() Here it is with Spec on Scott site. ![]() Cheers |

if you put 3 rings on then you use the chain guide, if you start riding hard then you NEED a chain device :/
ps i would always build my own bike, over a factory bike |

I've found that 3 speed front is fine even on the hard stuff (id say I've ridden some pretty intense stuff). I find if I leave it on the middle ring then the de-railer will pull it back on if it feels the need to go somewhere. I then get uphill performance which I need, I try not to push it if I can and road speed with the biggest ring.
I love the frame more than anything. The forks I also like, im not into spending a ridiculous amount of money on parts, I think im a true Barnsley lad like that. The frame alone (because it comes with range topping shock) costs more than the bike whole!? Id prefer to build my own again but price is against me atm. Ill be using some parts off of my current ride like front brake at least... Last edited by ThEGr33k; 30-04-10 at 10:48 AM. |

Depends, it is a fair amount of money, but in the grand scheme of bikes that is still on the "budget" side!

Well got it!
What can I say; its fantastic, allows me to go down bumpy hills so much easier, already been on courses and rides and been able to go down them fast and not be even remotely challenged! Its just easy. So happy days ![]() |

It appears the cause of my bike riding a bit odd is that the rear spindle is a bit stoke-on-trent.
Which is the second one in 2 rides. I am sure I am not that fat, I'm blaming a poor design. It is old type screw-on rear sprockets. How much expense is involved in converting to cassette? (7spd.)
