You can get pair of wheels with mavic xm317 and XT hubs for about £110.
considering that as front wheel bearing on mine is also knackered and cheap sh**, cup and cone rubbish rather than proper bearing.

not bad, my mavic front wheel has lasted well considering and has the crap cone bearings (shimano deore) gone through 4 sets of bearings in a year though
EDIT just checked they are the same as my dad's and have lasted over 4 years and 3 bikes, running them with Magura hubs though (£100 a pop) and thats on a £2000+ bike so should be up to the job Last edited by barwel1992; 06-06-10 at 11:40 PM. |

I cant actually put a triple ring set on it (the bottom of the seat tube opens out for bigger weld on the bottom bracket shell), or at least without a lot of messing. Means going up hills will be a little harder but oh well, it means ill get fitter faster. ha ha. No big problem. Only reason I mentioned it in a previous post was to get some more flexibility going up some of the steep hills to ride back down... ![]() Commuting ha ha, soon you'll need that sort of travel to ride down the road! ![]() ![]() |

Ah its not that sort of thing really Barwel, its the large amount of bumps that are normally on the things I ride. I used to do it on a hard tail with 100mm of travel but 180mm front and 170 back makes it a great deal easier
