How many? I got a 4 pot on front of Kona, 2 on rear. And 2 on front and back on Scott... You got something silly? TBH I think I prefer the feel of the Elixier 5 than the code 5. Code 5 is just mental.

NOTE: Im not actually sure I got the 180mm version forks, think I have the 160... If I can get the part to convert to 180mm for a reasonable price I might. Will check to see how much there is there.

I just use a Code on the front and a Juicy 5 on the rear , stops me fine enough

Juicy 5`s are pretty good for the money and the size , I got a Code on the front because it was £50 . My old Juicy 5 on the front got damaged in a bad way in a speedy caliper to Rock interface but the damn thing still worked . Have removed it since and bagged the Code at a bargain price .

cool, if i ever decide to build a XC bike i might just put some of those on, i would put the hopes on but for £120 just for the caliper and master cylinder they are a touch pricey and £30 a disk on top and then add the brackets it all become's a bit silly when on a xc bike i wouldn't actually need the power

Codes are sick! Mine on the front of the kona with a 203mm disc is just stupid. Over the bars easy I have a Juicy 3.5 160mm on the rear, which can easily lock the wheel with me sat down so thats enough. I've had a quick go with the older M4's, the 4 pad calipers on 203mm disc's, they are very nice but they wernt as powerful as my Code, though I think that might be down to them needing bleeding. ha ha. Would have thought they would be similar.

Im thinking of putting a 160 on the rear of the Scott as 203 is way more than I need on the back, and it gets muddy too easily ha ha.

TBH Barwel id try some Avid Juicy or Elixier (2 pots) like mine, they have similar stopping power but arnt as fierce, they are much easier to use without fear. ha ha. Infact, Hope now rate their V2 (2 pad brakes) as their best brakes... I did wonder why till I started using the scott a few days ago with 2 pots...

Only reason Im wondering about the 160mm travel thing is that its supposed to be a 180, I just dont like not getting what it says on the tin... Grr. If the part that id need is like £20-£40 then I might get it so I can change between. Would only be a 10 min job to change! Simple internals, not that I care, makes simple servicing

they arnt adjustable travel are they ?

and the hope m4's that i have are only the twin pad ones, i actuly dont like 2 pot brakes because found them to on and off, i prefer the way the m4's have a progressive feel, although my mate dosn't think so he sead he just taped the front and flipped over the bars lol.

have you seen the size on the hope v2's though ? bloody huge pistons motor bike sized, and the vented rotors are nice to, it don't realy matter how many pots its all about the area the pistons take up, so two bigger piston could be the same "area" as 4 smaller ones and would both be about as good.

i did have a hope m6 on the front at one stage the 6pot calliper but that was lethal and nearly killed me so took it back (they were happy to accept it back as it was already a open'd packet when i brought it and only rode up the road on it any way... then flipped over the bars lol)

id think the stations might actuly be the same but shimmed down internals, same with my forks i can get 135mm of travel but would then need new springs so stick with 125

The 160 and 180 share all the same components except for the spring side where the piston the spring hangs on limits the movement, change that out and it can travel the full 180.

I have checked and it is at 160. Heh.

Yeah, it's very Kona 4-bar-ish isn't it. Kind of ugly I've got it built up light-ish but tough, they do a choice of rear travel but it's got the 120mm travel rockers for the tighter rear end, and a 150mm Revelation Team fork on the front for longish travel but light weight. And Hope Hoops with Stans Flow rims. I built it for the bigger stuff that my Soul isn't so at home on but in the end it turns out it's brilliant at even fairly simple trails, it's still a hoot at glentress. Love it... It's not as full on as your Scott, more a kind of oversized trail bike, though I might stick a set of Lyriks on it in the future just to stiffen the front up a bit.
